My Story
My Scentsy story began after hearing about Scentsy for the first time. My sister, who was in the Navy and stationed in Hawaii, was telling me about this awesome product that she uses called Scentsy. She said, "you will never want to buy another scented candle...ever." So of course as a candle lover, I was curious. What exactly is Scentsy? One day while video chatting with her she showed me her warmer and a bar of wax. As soon as we ended our video chat I just had to check out the website. I loved the concept, scented wax but no flame. As I browsed the website more I became more and more interested. My sister had purchased her warmer and waxes from a friends mother who is a consultant. I started thinking, consultant?? Hmmm, that could be fun and I could make some money too. So, then came the youtube videos. I watched every video I could find from videos of consultants opening their kits for the first time, to videos of parties, to videos of how to make wax samples. With each video my interest grew and grew. You see, for me it seemed being a Scentsy consultant was a way for me to do something new, fun, and exciting and what a better way than to make money while I was at it. I figured every little bit could help my family and I could not foresee myself getting bored with it. So, I watched those same videos over and over again while I pondered the idea of becoming a Scentsy consultant. I ran the idea past my husband who of course had no idea what I was talking about but said..."if it's what you want to do then go for it." How I love him! :) I had searched for consultants in my area and my search returned 4 consultants. I contacted one of them by email and was not thrilled or pleased with the response I received back. So, I moved on to the next one. The next consultant emailed me back and was willing to answer all of my questions which I thought was awesome. So, when the day came to sign up, I was freaking out on the inside (I'm not one to take a chance when it comes to money without a guarantee!) but this is a chance I'm so glad I took. Of course I signed up under consultant number 2 who was so great about giving me information. I think it is so important to share this experience with others, especially potential team members and make them feel comfortable with the decision they are making as to whether or not to become a consultant. I remember the day like it was yesterday, a chilly day in January 2011 while my daughter was in school I did it!!! I signed up for Scentsy and started on this amazing journey. I could not wait to receive my starter kit and get started. I still love to talk Scentsy and to share this product with everyone, especially those who don't know what Scentsy is. I took a chance and although I have bigger plans for my business in the future, I am enjoying the ride and loving every single minute of my Scentsy journey. I make my own hours, I run things the way I want, and I never feel stressed when I'm workin' my Scentsy business.
